What is the Tempo Core?

The Core connects your iPhone and TV to power your personal training experience by using the iPhone camera to track your movements and provide real-time feedback. It’s detachable from the Tempo Move cabinet, so you can place it anywhere your HDMI and USB-C power cables reach or bring it with you on-the-go.

What’s the difference between a Tempo Core and Tempo Move?

The difference is that the Tempo Core equipment packages do not come with a weight cabinet. If you purchase a Tempo Move, it includes a Tempo Core. 

Do I need to buy a Tempo Move and a Tempo Core?

Nope! The Tempo Move comes with a Tempo Core. The only difference is that the Tempo Core home gym package doesn’t include a weight cabinet.

Do I need to use Tempo weights?

To take full advantage of your Tempo experience, you need Tempo weights. Without them, our sensors cannot count reps, recognize your weight totals, or correct your form.

Do I need to have a wearable device to work out with Tempo?

No, but it helps. In the workout experience, you can either connect an Apple Watch or wear a Tempo Heart Rate Monitor. Outside of your workout experience, features like your Readiness Score and Workout Intensity are based on your Apple Health data, so any wearable or health device that syncs with that app will improve your Tempo experience.

Can I use an Android or Apple iPad with the Tempo Core?

No. Android and Apple iPad are not supported at this time.

Which Move equipment package is right for me?

It depends on where you are on your fitness journey! Here’s what we recommend:

  • Starter: for anyone who’s new to strength training or wants to work out with Tempo more sparingly 

  • Plus: for anyone who wants to take on more with the Tempo home gym, with heavier weight and a workout mat.

  • Pro: for someone who has some experience with heavier strength training or who wants to use their Tempo as their primary workout source. 

How do I return a Tempo Move?

You can return your Tempo home gym within your 30-day trial period. Here are the basics of returning a Tempo home gym:

  1. Keep the packaging: Hold onto the original packaging when you receive your Tempo. Otherwise, purchasing new packaging may be required to ensure the Tempo does not get damaged during shipping.

  2. Contact member support: Email hello@tempo.fit to start the return process. They’ll send your return slip if you are eligible.

  3. Package with care: When placing all items back in the packaging, separate the equipment accordingly. You can work with our member support team to get everything packed.

  4. Ship using FedEx: You can drop it off at a FedEx location for free or schedule a pickup by FedEx at your own expense.

Do I need additional equipment for a Tempo home gym?

Only if you purchase a Tempo Move or Core. You need:

  • An iPhone XR or later (iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max)

  • A TV or Display with an HDMI port
