Phone Only Workout

  1. What's different about phone-only workouts vs. a typical Tempo workout experience?
    1. Most of the workout experience will be the same, including your favorite features like rep counting, weight recognition, and range of motion meters. Phone-only workouts allow you to take a class on the go when you are traveling, or directly from your phone if you do not have a TV handy to mirror or AirPlay to. Due to limited screen real estate, there are a few on-screen features you won’t see.

  2. I noticed I have the option to choose whether or not I want to continue a workout without tracking. What happens when I do a workout without tracking?
    1. When you do a workout without tracking, we will give you the credit as if you had done the recommended reps and weights. We don’t recommend doing a baseline class without tracking, as the data collected about your workout will not be accurate and may impact the classes recommended within your training plan.

  3. Why can’t I see my Leaderboard during the workout?
    1. Due to the limited screen real estate on the phone, we did not prioritize showing the Leaderboard in this mode.

  4. Why do I not see my rep count from the previous set?
    1. Due to the limited screen real estate on the phone, we did not prioritize showing the previous sets’ rep counts.

  5. Will my workout still auto-pause when my HR is too high?
    1. Yes. If you indicate so in your settings, your workout will auto-pause when your HR is too high between sets.

  6. Can I do my workout in landscape mode?
    1. For now, we only support portrait mode. This allows your phone to be placed in the optimal position to allow your camera a full head-to-toe perspective of you.

  7. How do I pause my workout?
    1. Tapping on the video content will show an overlay which will allow you to pause your workout. Within the paused state, you can adjust various settings, such as:
      • Connecting your HR monitor
      • Adjusting your music preference
      • Modifying your weights
      • Accessing other workout settings

  8. How do I calibrate my computer vision screen?
    1. If you are out of frame at the end of your warmup, your computer vision screen will pop up. Simply step back into the frame and, if you are in a good position, the computer vision screen will disappear within a few seconds and take you back to your class.

  9. Can I still mirror my workout to my TV?
    1. Mirroring your TV is as easy as before. Simply tap on the mirror icon and follow the instructions to mirror your phone through the pull-down quick navigation tray.

  10. How do I use my Core device?
    1. As always, displaying your workout on the TV is as easy as ever using the Tempo Core. Simply turn on your TV and plug your phone into your Core. Your workout should mirror straight onto your TV.

  11. What workouts can I take on my phone?
    1. At the moment, live workouts are not supported on your phone. All on-demand workouts should be available to take on your phone.

  12. My workout freezes, or audio plays in the background when I plug or unplug my phone from the core.
    1. When you plug the phone into the core while a workout is in progress, there may be a transition period of about 5 seconds where the UI may freeze or audio will play on both platforms at the same time.
